My Mother-in-law shared this great verse with us this morning as we were a little depressed. It was pretty much what we needed to hear from the Lord today.

"Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stails, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. For the director of music. On my stringed instruments."

What a beautiful verse. Chris and I feel like nothing is happening down here (..."Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines") doesn't mean that the Lord isn't working things out. And in it all to rejoice and praise him through it all. This was an uplifting verse for us.

Chris and I decided to take a snooze on our way back to Nashville last week and we woke up and Mr. Orange decided he was going to drive the rest of the way home.

This mornings sermon...

It's amazing how each and every Sunday God speaks to Chris and I just when we need to hear him. Whatever we go through during the week God speaks to us about it that Sunday.

This Sunday was about being anger at God. We are necessarily "angry" at God but more frustrated about we felt like we was leading us to Nashville and now there isn't anything here for us. So this morning we were again encouraged by the sermon.

Pastor Randy spoke about when him and his wife were first married they purchased this great townhouse 900 sq ft, had 3 children while living there and thought they were it. When they were ready to move out of the small house they decided to still keep it and rent it out. They thought it was reall adult of them having two homes and also investing at the same time. The townhouse was all set up with renters and a management company that handled the rent and leasing agreements. It all seemed well until 6 months down the road the management company called them up and said that the renters could not make the rent for this month. Randy and his wife prayed about how they should handle this situation. They felt like the Lord was telling them to have mercy on the renters and they wouldn't need to pay rent for that month. After speaking with the management company about what they'd arrange with the renters the management company told Randy and his wife that they wouldn't be able to come up with next month either. Randy was really not sure what to do. Weeks went by and Randy tried to get a hold of the family (renters)to see what they could work out. No luck-- so he drove over to the townhouse and found that the family had vacated the house and also left them a present. On everyone of the walls were huge holes that they smashed in. The toilets where all plugged up. Since the toilets were plugged up they decided to use the backyard as their toilet.
Needless to say Randy had it out with God. "Why would you do this to us after we had mercy on them?" After a long few days of discussion with God, God told him this, "Mercy is expensive but it cost me everything for you."

WOW. Amazing. God only wants what is best for us. There was a reason that that situation happened to Randy and his wife. Even though we may not see the good in a bad situation there is a purpose. One purpose of Randy's situation was he was able to speak about his situation with many people this morning. God used that situation to minister to us. God is in control of every situation.

It does not profit us to be mad at God for God is in control of every situation.

Back in Nashville

Chris and I are back in Nashville. We had a long exhausting drive and arrived late at 12:30 am. So needless to say we were catching up and relaxing all day long.
We forced ourselves to go and walk around downtown. We ended up listening to some really great music. An AMAZING guitar player and country music. Great combination.

Anyways... again I am at a lose for many words. I need more sleep. Give me a few days and I'll return. Have a great weekend.

In Minnesota (Sara and Kevin's wedding)

We are in Minnesota. Just arrived today. We have already received our daily bread at Chipotle. Which was very refreshing but filling at the same time. We are still in the process of catching up on sleep from the wedding and just traveling.

On the way up to Wisconsin where we had our friends wedding we encountered a flat tire in Indiana. No lie-- the place we ended up taking the car to only charged us $8. So since we have a lot of money we tipped him a little extra money for some cold drinked. The shop was priceless. Bails of hay and corn sacks surrounded the shop. Those pictures are to come. So far just a few wedding pics.

Baking cookies

I was baking cookies this afternoon for our trip. I don't mean to toot my own horn but I think my cookies are pretty delicious. As I was baking them I commented to Chris, "I know that these cookies are going to be good because the batter is fluffy." He's like whatever. I bake the first batch and they turned out devine. Perfect. We pretty much ate the entire first batch. The second batch I got a little preoccupied and forgot about them. The pictures will explain everything else. They even melted the paper plate.

WISCONSIN/ MINNESOTA HERE WE COME...

We are leaving Wednesday at 6 am. TOMORROW!!! We are so looking forward to socializing this weekend. Okay so maybe we are lacking in that area just a little...a lot!

Tomorrow we will load up on coffee and hit the road. We downloaded a book on tape and we have a few sermons, and THE OFFICE too. Oh and Mr. Orange is tagging along too. That in itself is an adventure.

We will see everyone very soon.

Small Group...

Chris and I joined a small group at our new church MIDTOWN FELLOWSHIP. It's actually a financial planning class structured by Crown College. Apparently it's a pretty popular class taught in a lot of churches. I found it ironic though that we had to pay $55 for books and materials. "HELLO- everyone in the class is broke. That's why we are here...."

Anyways... I just had to vent for a moment. So far (two weeks) the class has been really enjoyable. I have never been apart of group where no on in the group wasn't from Assemblies of God background. Not that AG is bad but it has been good to get a different perspective. Everyone is very encouraging. I think they are still trying to figure out our crazy humor. They're not sure whether to laugh or not. Oh well... it's comical for us.

All in all we are slowly making friends in the class. It's a start.

Friday Fun Night....

Lost for words...

After getting back from my sisters wedding I am at a lost for word as what to write on my blog. I think you call that writers block. Yup--I definitely have that at the moment.

Chris and I are heading up north to Minnesota and Wisconsin for a wedding and to visit family. We are so looking forward to that. I'm looking forward to Caribou and Chris is looking forward to Chipotle. We have neither in Nashville.

This evening we're cleaning and eating ice cream. The ice cream of choice is mint chocolate chip. Chris seems to think that it's called peppermint bonbon. WHAT? I make fun of him every time he calls it that. So cute.

Anyways... hopefully I'll be inspired soon.
